Meet Our Leader
Hi, I'm Ashmita! I'm a high school junior in the Bay Area and the founder of Light Her Path.
This mission is personal to me. My grandma used to teach at Andh Kanya Prakash Gruh, so I grew up hearing about the girls at this school and the incredible work happening there. When I realized how many blind and visually impaired girls in India still don't have access to basic education and resources, I knew I had to do something.
I started Light Her Path on my own with,just a lot of passion and a lot of figuring things out along the way. So far we've raised over $1,200 that has gone directly to the school in Ahmedabad. Every dollar, every fundraiser, every post has been to make sure these girls get the opportunities they deserve.
Light Her Path is now growing into a team of student officers from across the world who all believe in this mission. But at its core, it's still the same idea I started with: Every girl deserves a path to her future, and we're here to help light the way!
